MedSurg/Oncology Registered Nurses (RN)

Registered Nurse - Oncology
Day Shift: Monday - Friday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
The Registered Nurse is responsible for administering various chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and injections as per the provider's order. The RN will also handle accessing port-a-caths, PICC lines, and Hickman catheters, performing venipuncture, and managing dressings and labs via these access devices. This role requires close monitoring of all intravenous therapies and the collection of accurate patient records regarding conditions, treatments, medications, and responses to treatments. The RN will notify the Medical Oncologist or Nurse Practitioner of any unusual occurrences and initiate appropriate emergency actions when necessary.
Responsibilities:

Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy medications according to provider orders.
Access and manage port-a-caths, PICC lines, and Hickman catheters.
Perform venipuncture and manage necessary dressings and lab work.
Maintain accurate and complete patient records regarding condition, treatment, and responses.
Monitor patient responses to treatment and document intravenous therapies meticulously.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medications, treatments, side effects, and disease processes.
Verify informed consent prior to administering chemotherapy.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous drugs.
Utilize Epic EMR proficiently for documentation purposes.
Assignment Duration:
This is a 13-week contract position.
