Auto Body and Paint Technician

ADESA, a Carvana-owned company, currently operates in over 50 locations throughout the US. Our auto auctions some up to 200 acres, provide a wide array of vehicle services including repair, reconditioning, and auction remarketing, and many of our sites serve as market hub distribution centers. Our inventory comprises hundreds of thousands of vehicles across North America from retail to commercial, OEM & more.

Reporting to the Body Shop or designated Manager, perform auto paint and body repair work in a production environment. Remove, repair, or replace damaged parts

Use welding, soldering, and cutting torches as required

Perform visual and feel quality inspection prior to the spraying of any product to ensure the vehicle is properly prepped for paint.

Ensure vehicles are properly cleaned and dusted prior to painting

Communicate with other technicians to meet production goals and customer standards

Clean equipment to ensure proper maintenance

Assist with general shop cleanliness and organization

Resolve any customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner and advise management of all serious complaints or incidents.

Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.

Inform the Body Shop Supervisor or Manager of all equipment breakdowns and maintenance immediately.

Promote and follow safety policies.

Requires use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment

Ability to use tools such as heat guns, propane torches, plastic scrapers, electric sanders, drills, buffers and air blowers

Automotive/auction experience preferred

Basic computer skills

The physical activity requirements of the position range from Medium to Heavy Physical Work .

Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision comparable to definitions for Clerical, Administrative, Machine Operators (including inspection) positions .

This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems, such as fumes, odors and dusts associated with internal and external service station/convenience food and petroleum dispensing operations.
