Manufacturing Engineer- Toledo

Must be willing to work weekends.

Work is technical in nature with decisions made within the limits of general practices, policies, and standards. Work is performed in a manufacturing plant where creativity and initiative are exercised as well as independent judgment. Ability to analyze data to support cost reductions and tool life improvements. Ability to work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision is a must. Must have the ability to work across multiple functions, training others, and assign work to a small group of employees. As well as playing a key role as the tooling and gaging point of contact, the successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting equipment and implementing permanent corrective solutions in a manufacturing department. May involve training others and assigning work to a small group of employees.
Supports continuous improvement projects
Diagnose, analyze, and document emergent tooling issues
Creation of Engineering sufficiency plans as required
Ensure supply base adheres to GM standards and quality and
manufacturing processes are enabled
Design, analyze and implement product or machinery designs for best method for manufacturing processes
Propose and evaluate the processes for equipment in assigned area
Direct the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for assigned area
Responsible to evaluate or monitor expenditures for processes and/or equipment
Strong technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience
Demonstrated high level of analytical ability including experience with structured technical problem; Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and difficult projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results
Demonstrates initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others
Proven ability in managing large and complex projects
Experience in troubleshooting production equipment
Experience with gear and aluminum machining, assembly processes, and
testing and verification systems
