Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (Oncology) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, Epic proficiency, and an OH or Compact RN license.
Details Inpatient Med/Surg Oncology unit within a cancer hospital and research center
Patient population includes oncology patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring during chemotherapy, soft tissue malignancy patients receiving diagnostic services and symptom management, and patients with disease-related comorbidities
Heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts (7:00-19:30 days / 19:00-7:30 nights); shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on staffing needs
Special equipment includes GE B450 telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
Epic EMR — experience required
Floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity
Requirements Active OH or Compact RN license required
Current BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Epic EMR experience required
Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation, port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, IV insertion, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and ABG interpretation
2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference — no coworker references accepted
Ohio fingerprinting required; candidates must complete this process promptly after accepting the position
Additional Information Oncology nursing experience is preferred but not required
Previous travel nursing experience is preferred
Local candidates are accepted
Former facility employees are eligible for a travel assignment after a 6-month separation from the facility
Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract duration
