Head of Programme Management

Position Information

The Internal Medicine Residency Program Coordinator manages all aspects of the resident recruitment and selection process, day‑to‑day operational aspects for the designated residency program, including residency and fellowship programs under the Department of Internal Medicine. The role participates in long‑range planning and development, financial analysis, resident admissions and onboarding, programmatic support to Program Directors, and serves as a resource to residents for library privileges, employment and benefits matters with SOM Human Resources, and other administrative duties as assigned.

Primary location is 1890 N. Waterman Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92404; the position may also involve work out of the UCR campus office on a regular basis. The appointment is a limited 50% FTE for a definite term from hire date until June30,2027, with automatic termination unless renewed. Pay range is $31.16–$47.39 per hour. Applicants must have current work authorization; sponsorship of employment visas is not available.

As a University employee, compliance with all applicable University policies and collective bargaining agreements is required, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Experience Requirements

Prior experience working in or with graduate medical education programs or graduate education in a medical school or higher education environment. Two to four years of related experience.

Minimum Requirements

Ability to speak in public and present to various groups.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to develop working relationships within the department and with learners.

Excellent organizational skills, analytical ability, and attention to detail, with capacity to manage complex faculty calendars and schedules.

Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research; ability to develop and implement processes and systems; familiarity with administrative and operational implications in a program.

Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with general supervision.

Knowledge of educational technology and systems; ability to troubleshoot and triage related technology issues.

Ability to maintain workflow with changing priorities, frequent interruptions, and stressful situations while working with a positive attitude.

Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills; ability to generate computer reports, check for errors, correct and submit accurate reports; skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems.

Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements and of the health professions education industry.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of extremely sensitive and confidential patient and employee information.

Communication skills, including verbal, written, and active listening; service oriented and responsive to questions and requests; ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge and experience working with UC or UCR policies, procedures and business systems.
