Radiology Technician
If you love helping animals, this is the right place for you! UW Veterinary Care (UWVC) is seeking a skilled radiologic technologist to assist in essential patient diagnostic imaging procedures. Operate general stationary and portable x-ray equipment. Assist with procedures including patient care, equipment settings, and equipment troubleshooting. Perform cross sectional imaging such as CT and/or MRI. This position is full-time, 100% FTE / 40 hours a week.
Primarily Monday - Friday with hours between 9:00am -5:30pm, 30-minute unpaid lunch. Two (2) weekend days per month required (Sat or Sunday hours between 8:00am - 5:00pm). Weekday schedule will be adjusted accordingly for those weeks. Follows prescribed techniques in administering general and specific x-rays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or other radiologic scanning procedures. Adjusts equipment, determines proper voltage, current and desired exposure time, arranges immobilization and support devices to obtain position of patient/participant, adjusts lead shields to protect unaffected parts of the patient's/participant's body, adjusts cone to direct concentration of rays on specific area, and selects proper film (30%)

• Cleans and disinfects patient/participant rooms and equipment to maintain highest quality safety and cleanliness standards (5%)
• Performs imaging studies on large and small animals (10%)
• Processes images, film, and/or other scanning documentation in accordance to guidelines and photographic technique. Performs quality control activities to ensure optimal quality radiographs (5%)
• Troubleshoots and reports equipment problems to supervisor (5%)

The starting hourly rate for the position is $27.00 (but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications).

Experience in digital radiography

Experience handling large and small animals
Certified American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Required
Certification in CT/MRI preferred
