Direct Support Professional
We provide community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Position Type: Non-exempt, Full-Time or Part-Time, Hourly

This role provides direct support within a single program or unit, typically supporting 4-6 individuals in residential settings or up to 10 individuals in periodic programs. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) delivers support according to individual service/program plans and helps individuals live as independently as possible.

Services and Supports

Provide direct support according to individual service plans, including personal care, socialization, skill/behavioral development, recreational activities, transportation, community integration, shopping, and daily living tasks

Report incidents, medical issues, and concerns per policy and regulatory requirements

Health Care Support

Accompany individuals to medical appointments as needed; communicate with medical providers

Administer or support medication administration and maintain proper documentation and security

Monitor health and follow directives; respond to emergencies appropriately

Use medical equipment correctly and report malfunctions

Attend orientation, ongoing training, and staff meetings

fill in for other shifts if required

Transport individuals safely, ensuring proper use of safety equipment

Perform daily and seasonal housekeeping; Report hazards or equipment issues promptly

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Six months of experience in human services preferred

Must be at least 18 years old

Basic computer skills

Valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, and insurance if providing transportation

Comply with background checks, Central Registry, and Child Abuse Registry as required

Pass pre-employment and random drug testing

Work at the program location and accompany individuals into the community as needed
