Warehouse Associate Job Description

This role supports daily warehouse operations by handling inbound and outbound shipments, performing accurate picking and packing, operating material handling equipment, and maintaining precise inventory records using spreadsheets and warehouse systems. The Warehouse Associate ensures materials move safely and efficiently through the facility while upholding quality and safety standards.

Download and manipulate Excel spreadsheets from SAP to support inventory control and reporting activities.

Participate in continuous inventory cycle counts and yearly physical inventory to ensure accurate stock levels.

Unload trucks for inbound shipments, ensuring materials are received in satisfactory condition and properly staged or stored.

Load trucks for outbound shipments, stacking materials properly to prevent damage during transit.

Pick and pack contents for domestic and international orders, ensuring order contents are accurate and properly prepared for shipment.

Report defective materials or questionable conditions promptly to the department supervisor for review and resolution.

Follow standard work instructions and established procedures to maintain consistency, safety, and quality in all tasks.

Use forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stage, and organize products within the warehouse.

Support general warehouse housekeeping by keeping work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.

At least 2 years of warehouse experience, including hands-on involvement in shipping, receiving, and inventory-related tasks.

At least 2 years of computer experience within a warehouse environment, including use of spreadsheets and warehouse systems.

Forklift experience and ability to safely operate material handling equipment.

Working knowledge of packaging methods and ability to determine appropriate packaging requirements for different products and shipments.

Knowledge of spreadsheets to support cycle counting and inventory responsibilities.

Capability to understand and apply weights and measures when counting, picking, and packing materials.

Experience working with SAP or similar enterprise systems for inventory and shipment tracking.

Comfort working with both domestic and international orders and related documentation.

Strong communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and team members regarding defective materials or issues.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support different warehouse functions as needed.

Commitment to safe work practices and adherence to personal protective equipment requirements.

You will join a warehouse team that values reliability, accuracy, and safety, and offers the opportunity to build practical skills in inventory control, material handling, and systems such as spreadsheets and SAP. The role provides stable daytime hours, a structured environment with clear procedures, and the chance to contribute directly to efficient operations and on-time deliveries. This position is based in a warehouse environment with a first-shift schedule, typically from 8:00 a.m. The facility uses large fans for airflow, and temperatures may become warm, especially during the summer months. Work involves regular use of forklifts and other material handling equipment, as well as computers and spreadsheets for inventory and shipping tasks. Personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toed boots, and employees are expected to follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in and around warehouse equipment and storage areas.

This is a Permanent position based out of Lincolnshire, IL.
