Wing offers drone delivery as a safe, fast, and sustainable solution for last mile logistics. Wing's fleet of highly automated delivery drones can transport small packages directly from businesses to homes on-demand, in minutes. We design, build, and operate our aircraft, and offer drone delivery services on two continents. Our technology is designed to be easy to integrate into existing delivery and logistics networks, offering a scalable drone delivery solution for a broad range of businesses. Wing is a part of Google's parent company, Alphabet, and our mission is to create the preferred means of delivery for the planet. Wing is looking for a Director of Communications who can seamlessly navigate the intersection of cutting-edge technology, consumer trust, and public policy. This role is based remotely in the United States and will serve as the storyteller and strategic communications architect for Wing.

Wing is entering a new chapter of commercial maturity, moving from targeted drone delivery in key markets to scaling everyday delivery. As the leader in residential on-demand delivery, we are accelerating our rollout nationwide across 20 metro areas. In this role, you'll architect an integrated communications strategy that transforms drone delivery from a futuristic novelty into an indispensable, trusted everyday service. Success requires a strategist who can balance the distinct needs of external media, local communities, local and federal regulators, global enterprise partners, and our expanding global workforce.

Design a holistic internal and external communications strategy to support Wing's expansion into complex metropolitan markets.

Drive B2B and B2C communications to ensure restaurant and retail partners recognize Wing as a viable, present-day delivery option worth prioritizing on their roadmaps.

Partner with the Government and Affairs and Public Policy teams to engage with federal aviation authorities, policymakers, and local municipal governments to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and community concerns regarding noise, privacy, and airspace safety.

Oversee comprehensive executive communications, thought leadership, internal communications, and crisis communications frameworks.

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing communications team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence across internal, external, policy, and product disciplines.

20+ years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, or corporate affairs, ideally within scaled environments within consumer brands

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Policy, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing reputational risk and building corporate narratives for a company undergoing rapid commercial scaling or regulatory scrutiny.
• Proven track record of managing multifaceted communications teams across internal, external, product, and policy disciplines.
• The US base salary range for this full-time position is the salary range below + bonus + equity + benefits.
