Job Overview

Fredericktown Local Schools is seeking a full-time educational aide K-12 for the 2026-2027 School Year.

Rate of Pay: As per Salary Schedule.

Qualifications

A high school education

Neat appearance

Ability to communicate in a courteous manner

Willingness to cooperate with others

Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities

Possess Teacher Aide certificate

Such alternatives as to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Physical Demands

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: regularly use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; frequently sit; occasionally stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations of these physical demands may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Performance Responsibilities

May be assigned to administer, score, and record such achievement and diagnostic tests as requested.

May be assigned to work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.

May be assigned to supervise and monitor students in study halls, lunch rooms, classrooms, or supervise students on playgrounds.

May be assigned to input data, type letters, reports, memos, etc.

Performs various related office duties as assigned.

May be assigned to operate copy machine to reproduce handwritten or typewritten materials and review work orders to determine the number of copies desired; type of master copy to use; and color, size, and weight of paper required, as well as to operate other machines such as collator, paper cutter, or hole puncher.

If assigned as a lunchroom monitor, organizes students into orderly lines for purchasing food, ensures orderly dining, assists younger students with utensils when needed, organizes groups for orderly dismissal, circulates in the meal period to resolve minor problems, and informs attending teacher of any serious disciplinary infractions.

May be assigned to supervise students at play time, maintain a harmonious atmosphere on the playground, direct movement of groups, and report play equipment hazards to the principal.

Operates and cares for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes or in the administrative office as assigned.

Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips.

May be assigned to read to students, listen to students read, and participate in other oral communications with students.

Assists students in the library or media center.

May be assigned to check and record student attendance.

Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as expected of fully licensed teachers.

Participates in in-service training programs, as assigned.

Abides by and observes all Board policies, administrative rules, directives, or procedures, as well as oral requests and directives presented by authorized supervisory or administrative authorities.

Performs or fulfills other related tasks or responsibilities assigned by the immediate supervisor or superintendent.
