CNC Programmers - Manufacturing

Magnetic Component Engineering (“MCE”), a subsidiary of Dexter Magnetic Technologies (“Dexter”), manufactures permanent magnets and magnetic assemblies made to demanding customer specification in the aerospace / defense, semiconductor equipment, medical, and industrial end markets. MCE is based in Torrance, CA and operates one 48,000 square foot facility with 85 employees.

An employee in this position will perform, with minimal guidance, tasks defined by specifications, drawings, work instructions, and direction of supervisor directly related to the machining of both production and prototype parts made of various steel alloys, stainless steel, brass, aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, engineering plastics, and magnetic materials.

Employees will do basic set ups and operate multi-axis lathes and mills and other related equipment holding extremely tight tolerances (+/- 2 microns) to customer drawing and quality specifications and MCE methods. Support with training of level l CNC machinist.
Learn to sharpened cutting tools and rework holders.
Learn to sharpen tools on cutters and grinders; Use advanced inspection equipment, ex. CMM and digital optical measuring.
Conduct 1 st piece inspection and provide supporting quality documentation.
Use various hand tools, precision measuring equipment and associated gages and tooling.
Conduct preventative maintenance, 5S and housekeeping duties.
Assist with special projects and perform other related duties as assigned
Hourly Range depending on experience - $30-$35 per hour
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Ability to set up and run with minimal guidance a variety of machines while holding very tight tolerances to produce quality parts to spec on short run parts (first part, good part).
Strong machine shop math and complex blueprint reading skills, including GD&T.
Knowledge and use of a wide variety of precision measuring equipment.
