Job Summary

Tell Your Friends Bartenders create an intimate, sophisticated, and high-energy speakeasy experience that blends subterranean lounge vibes with world-class mixology and hospitality. Bartenders are responsible for crafting avant-garde and classic cocktails with meticulous precision, maintaining an immaculate and efficient bar, and providing magnetic, genuine service to our guests. The role requires exceptional multitasking, a polished and stylish presence, and the ability to thrive in an exclusive, fast-paced, high-volume underground environment.

Key Responsibilities

Bartending & Beverage Execution

Precision Mixology: Craft cocktails according to Tell Your Friends recipes, strict specifications, and dramatic presentation standards.

Speed & Artistry: Maintain speed, accuracy, and consistency during high-volume service without sacrificing the theatrical element of the pour.

Curated Knowledge: Provide expert recommendations on bespoke cocktails, rare spirits, curated wines, and premium non-alcoholic offerings.

Artisanal Prep: Uphold exacting standards for custom garnish prep, precise batching, house-made syrup production, and ice program management.

Bar Integrity: Maintain pristine, organized wells and an immaculate bar top throughout the night to preserve the speakeasy’s sophisticated aesthetic.

Guest Experience & Hospitality

Exclusive Hospitality: Deliver Tell Your Friends’ signature enigmatic, warm, and elevated hospitality to every guest.

Atmosphere Management: Engage bar guests with attentiveness, pacing awareness, and strong interpersonal communication to cultivate a V.I.P. lounge atmosphere.

Menu Storytelling: Provide full-service experiences including deep-dive menu storytelling, dietary information, and strategic upselling.

Gracious Resolution: Quickly and professionally resolve guest concerns or feedback with effortless grace.

Team Support & Collaboration

Service Well Efficiency: Support cocktail servers by preparing drinks for the lounge tables in a timely, highly organized manner.

Fluid Communication: Communicate clearly and seamlessly with the bar team, security, hosts, and support staff.

Operational Excellence: Participate in rigorous bar opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures with absolute accuracy.

Compliance, Safety & Standards

Responsible Service: Adhere strictly to Arizona liquor laws and responsible alcohol service policies.

Sanitation Standards: Maintain peak cleanliness, sanitation, and organizational standards across all bar equipment and hidden prep areas.

Financial Precision: Ensure accurate cash handling, strict adherence to comp/void procedures, and seamless POS utilization.

Skills & Qualifications

Experience: 2+ years of bartending experience in a high-volume speakeasy, craft cocktail lounge, or upscale, fine-dining environment preferred.

Mixology Acumen: Advanced cocktail knowledge, spirit familiarity, and a proven ability to follow complex recipes consistently.

Presence: Exceptional communication, magnetic guest service, and superior multitasking abilities.

Credentials: Must have (or obtain) an AZ Food Handler Card and Title 4 Liquor Certification.

Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, navigate dimly lit spaces safely, and lift up to 30 lbs.
