We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Security Officer I.
In this role, the successful candidate Patrol Hospital buildings and grounds. Hold post on an assigned shift protecting patients, visitors, volunteers, employees, and property. Respond to Hospital emergencies and provide staff support on access control and special activities as required.
Protect and safeguard various hospital properties and installations, as assigned. Patrol surrounding areas to ensure orderliness of environment i.e. lock and/or open doors, secure restricted areas, check fire hoses, stairwells, etc. Operate and/or monitor various security systems (alarms, TV surveillance, etc.). Provide security escorts as directed, i.e. safe corridor to parking garages.
Observe visitors to hospital, answer questions, and investigate reported losses, suspicious and/or unusual situations in a courteous efficient manner. Escort unruly or unauthorized personnel from hospital premises in a tactful and professional manner. Explain hospital security policies and procedures to visitors, staff, etc., Maintain hospital package control policy in accordance with established procedure.
Respond promptly to fire alarms, and other emergencies using established communication system in accordance with established procedure. Unlock doors, direct immediate and affected population to a safe area, assist fire brigade or appropriate others in a timely and efficient manner.
Detain law violators and represent the hospital in legal cases as necessary. Direct traffic, guard celebrities, and police official ceremonies, etc. May drive hospital vehicles.
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent.
Current and valid NYS Security Guard License.
Strong communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and customer service skills..
Required Licenses: Crisis Prevent/Intervention-Ct, Security Guard Reg-NYS
Some College. Basic computer skills including MS Office.

The salary range for the role is $34.68 - $43.07 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
