Company Profile

National Railroad Safety Services is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support and enhance our HR operations. This role will be responsible for a broad range of HR functions including employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, recruitment, and policy implementation. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, fosters a positive workplace culture, is highly organized, and enjoys a high‑pace environment.

Job Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive onboarding programs for new hires.

Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.

Stay abreast of changes in labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Facilitate background checks, MVR checks, and other industry‑specific requirements.

Oversee the employee life cycle, ensuring consistency and compliance across all locations.

Foster positive employee relations and address concerns in a timely manner.

Administer employee benefit programs and respond to employee inquiries.

Support performance management processes and employee development initiatives.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

Assist various departments with projects.

Assist with leave administration.

Investigate and resolve employee relations issues.

Develop and update company policies and procedures.

Perform other duties that are reasonably associated with the above essential functions and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, and/or a combination of education and significant work experience in Human Resources preferred.

Minimum of three years' experience in the human resources (generalist experience preferred) field.

Strong understanding of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations.

Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities.

Familiarity with workers' compensation and leave management practices.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office or related software.
