Job Description American Tax & CPA Services is seeking a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) specializing in Trusts (Form 1041), Schedule K-1s, and Real Estate Transactions to assist with year-round and off-season trust tax return preparation.
This is a 1099 contract role structured for total flexibility—especially during off-season months. Whether you want to take on a light file load for supplemental income or process high volumes on your own timeline, you have complete control over your capacity.
Focused Scope: You handle the specialized technical tax preparation; our office assistant team handles client administrative intake, document assembly, and client routing.
Prepare and review complex trust tax returns (Form 1041), including simple, complex, and grantor trusts.
Execute final trust and estate tax filings following property liquidations, pass-through distribution events, or final estate settlements.
Accurately calculate capital gains/losses, cost basis adjustments, and tax liabilities resulting from home sales, real estate liquidations, and property transfers.
Compliance & Technical Review: Ensure all returns comply strictly with federal and Florida state tax laws and estate guidelines.
Credential: Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (Florida or reciprocal state).
Capability to independently navigate complex fiduciary documents, trust agreements, and real estate closing statements.
Software Competency: Comfort using professional tax software (e.g., Drake, UltraTax, ProSeries) and electronic document management.
