Clinical Research Monitoring (CRA)

Overview

Under general supervision, initiates and/or maintains accurate and current logs of all patients referred for participation in clinical research. Performs clerical, administrative, and data management functions for the department. May assist with direct patient care, laboratory services, maintenance of supplies, and other duties as they relate to Clinical Research. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

Maintain supplies, drugs and storage facilities for clinical research as appropriate.

May disburse investigational drug and maintain investigational drug accountability.

May package and ship specimens to central vendors where applicable.

Required to complete Hazmat and/or IATA training.

Maintain regulatory documents in accordance with SOPs and applicable regulations; may participate in scheduling monitoring visits, as well as interact with monitors/auditors while onsite.

Participate in required training and education programs.

Assist others in the department with research related tasks.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Training

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Three years of medical office experience preferred.

Oncology experience preferred.

Business Experience

Experience in Microsoft Office.

Experience working with physicians preferred.

Experience working in clinical research is preferred.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills

Must have excellent communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills.

Strong ability to multi-task.

Excellent time management skills.

Must have strong interpersonal skills to be able to interact with multiple people on many different levels.

Must have a high level of attention to detail.

Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment.

May be responsible for basic clinical assessments.

Traditional office environment.

Large percent of time performing computer based work is required.
