Bosch Building Technologies - Estimator II - Structured Cabling
As an Estimator with Bosch, your main responsibility will be to maximize the award of profitable contracts by leading estimating and bid administration activities. You will work closely with the Sales, Design, and Project Management team to ensure that our customers are provided with the highest quality service.

A typical day could see you responding to an RFP, meeting with sales team members, working with service and project teams during installation, or working with clients to identify scope requirements.

Prepare cost budgets based on drawings, specifications, and other relevant materials

Work closely with Engineering, Sales, and PMO to develop cost estimates for labor and logistics and detailed BOM

Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents

Compute and communicate costs through analysis of labor, material, and time requirements

Engage subcontractors to augment Bosch’s areas of expertise to provide a complete solution

Obtain best product prices from manufacturers, distributors, and subcontractors

Maintaining technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, establishing networks

Communicate project status regularly with estimation manager, account manager, and other stakeholders

A minimum of 2 yearsof design and estimation experience in information technology and structured cabling systems

A minimum of 5 years of technical field experience or project management of low voltage system installation

Strong computer skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Mac OS, and project / quoting software

A strong understanding of network infrastructure, data center design, and IT industries, including an awareness of complimentary products, technologies, and trends

An understanding of and experience with fundamental concepts pertaining to IP networks, low voltage electronics, power, and communications.

Ability to create and edit design drawings, spread sheets, program sheets and projects handover documentation.

A strong command of the English language supported by excellent written and verbal communication skills

The ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and projects and be responsive to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Previous and progressive experience as an estimator in the low voltage/structured cabling industry with demonstrated success completing complicated and complex estimates and designs

Structured cabling - Belden, CommScope, Corning, Panduit

Telecom equipment racks, cabinets, and cable raceway

Structured cabling support system and pathway equipment

Access Control - LenelS2, Software House, Avigilon, Kantech, Genetec, AMAG, RBH

CCTV - Milestone, Avigilon, Genetec

Network Switching - Cisco, Ruckus, HPE

Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) - Schneider, Omron

Door Hardware - any- considered assets

Audio Visual - Crestron, Extron, Neat, etc.

Experience in a technical sales role or system design would be considered an asset

Post-secondary education in electronics, electrical, or equivalent would be considered an asset

see, hear, speak, and write clearly) in order to communicate with colleagues and/or customers; manual dexterity required for occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment

Position is a desk job requiring the use of computer, keyboard, and phone

The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated. This is a hybrid office position

Working Hours: This position generally works Monday- Friday, overtime and on call when necessary
