HR Generalist - Full-time Hourly position

In this position the candidate will work closely with the site's HR manager in the administration of plant human resources activities for all hourly, non‑exempt positions, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, administering employee benefit programs, conducting employee orientations, maintaining personnel records, and serving as payroll administration. This position will also specifically assist with supervisory development and building an employer of choice culture.
Administer job posting procedures and select employees for promotion within the plant to ensure fairness and equity.
Maintain training records.
Plan, organize, and direct the administration of Employee Relations activities and services such as service awards, picnics, and recognition activities.
Recruit, interview, conduct reference investigations, and recommend candidates for hourly, non‑exempt positions at the plant level.
Follow all company procedures and guidelines for selecting hourly paid job vacancies.
Conduct orientations for new employees regarding company policies, procedures, benefit programs, and plant rules to ensure full understanding of conditions and benefits.
Maintain all hourly personnel files and Ceridian records in an organized, accurate, and up‑to‑date manner.
Conduct benefit communication programs and assist with annual and new‑hire benefits enrollment.
Monitor and maintain accurate information in the Kronos time‑collection system and attendance tracker.
Ensure hourly employee reviews are completed in a timely manner.
Act as backup for administrative staff within the department when personnel are absent.
Investigate employee suggestions and complaints through fact‑finding methods and provide managers with guidance toward resolution.
Assist the Human Resources Manager with other duties and tasks as required, including employee relations activities and services.
Stay abreast of current developments in employee relations and/or legal requirements through reading, professional associations, and seminars.
Bachelor of Science degree in Employee Relations or related field, or related experience.
Three to five years of administrative experience, including demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Computer literate – demonstrate a working knowledge and application of various software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Driving – forklift.
