Cork Wine Bar & Market is a neighborhood-driven, woman- and Black-owned hospitality business and the flagship of a growing multi-unit restaurant group in Washington, DC. We are passionate about exceptional hospitality, thoughtful food and wine, and creating welcoming spaces for our guests and team members.

As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day accounting functions across our multi-unit restaurant group. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the books, maintaining accurate financial records, and partnering with leadership to support informed decision-making.

Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple restaurant locations.

Oversee the weekly accounts payable cycle, including check runs and electronic payments.

Maintain vendor accounts, resolve discrepancies, and communicate professionally with vendors.

Record financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks.

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.

Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and vendor statements.

Prepare monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports.

Review financial records for accuracy and identify discrepancies or process improvements.

Maintain organized financial documentation and support outside CPA with year-end reporting and tax preparation.

Partner with ownership by providing financial insights to support operational and strategic decisions.

3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience required; 5+ years preferred , including full-cycle bookkeeping responsibilities.

Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, including double-entry accounting, accrual accounting, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close.

Experience preparing journal entries and financial statements.

Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) is required. Experience with similar accounting systems (e.g., Strong Microsoft Excel skills (sorting, filtering, formulas; Professional communication skills and ability to handle confidential financial information.

Experience in restaurant, hospitality, or retail accounting.

Experience supporting multi-unit operations.

Familiarity with restaurant accounting concepts such as cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory tracking, and expense allocation.

Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Flexible part-time schedule (approximately 25 hours per week).

Competitive hourly compensation of $38–$50 per hour , depending on experience.
