Case Mix: Interventional Cardiology – catheterization, PCI, atherectomy, valvuloplasty, mechanical circulatory support, etc.

Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
Credentialing Timeline: 90–120 days

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

Cardiac catheterization and coronary angiography
Balloon angioplasty
Treatment of pulmonary embolisms
PCI with IVUS
Stent implantation
Atherectomy
Valvuloplasty
Left main PCI
Bifurcation stenting
Mechanical circulatory support (IABP, Impella, ECMO)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Board: Board Certified in Cardiology (or truly board certified)
Licenses: Active Michigan License or IMLC (Universal License)
DEA: DEA certification required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS
Experience: 1–5 years of experience required
Other Qualifications: Interventional Cardiology fellowship required; EPIC proficiency

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide clinical coverage in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including clinic and cath lab.
Perform interventional cardiology procedures such as cardiac catheterization, coronary angiography, PCI, stent implantation, atherectomy, valvuloplasty, and mechanical circulatory support.
Participate in weekday night call (7pm-7am) and weekend call (7am-7am) as assigned.
Support APP training and supervision within interventional cardiology.
Collaborate with the non-invasive cardiology team and other specialists.
