Phlebotomist (temporary/hourly)

Job Overview Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in Smithtown, NY.

Work Schedule Monday – Friday 6:30am – 3:00pm and rotating Saturdays 7:00am – 12:00pm.

Job Responsibilities Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.

Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.

Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely.

Process billing information and collect payments when required.

Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.

Maintain patient and specimen information logs.

Provide superior customer service to all patients.

Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.

Travel to additional sites when needed.

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency.

1 year or more experience performing blood collections by venipuncture.

Additional Job Standards Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Comfortable working under minimal supervision.

Reliable transportation required.

Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $17.75 – $26.00 per hour.

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD, 401(k), paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and employee stock purchase plan.

Employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours, casual, intern, or temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan.

Employees on a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible for all benefits except paid time off.

Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, paying a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
