Procurement SpecialistPlunkett's Pest Control, a family-owned company with over 100 years of history, is adding a Procurement Specialist to our Finance team in Fridley, MN.The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the materials, equipment, chemicals, and services that support our pest control operations. This role ensures products are procured cost-effectively, delivered on time, and compliant with company standards, environmental regulations, and safety requirements. The Procurement Specialist works closely with Operations, Warehouse, Finance, and vendor partners to maintain efficient inventory levels and support uninterrupted service delivery.What You'll DoNegotiate pricing, contracts, terms, and service agreements with vendors and suppliersPartner with the Materials Coordinator to identify and provide company-approved purchasing options for materials and suppliesDrive cost savings by negotiating vendor terms and optimizing participation in manufacturer and supplier rebate programsIssue and manage purchase orders in compliance with company purchasing policiesMonitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and quality standards, and identify alternative sourcing optionsMonitor inventory levels and forecast purchasing needs based on seasonal demand and operational requirementsCollaborate with warehouse and field operations teams to maintain appropriate stock levels and reduce shortages, overstock, and wasteConduct inventory audits and assist with cycle countsDevelop and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships, and resolve issues related to quality, shipping delays, or invoicing discrepanciesMaintain an approved vendor databaseEnsure procurement activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations regarding pesticide and chemical purchasesMaintain records related to product certifications, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and other regulatory requirementsReview invoices, reconcile purchasing documentation, and track procurement spendingAssist with budget planning, cost analysis, and purchasing reportsMaintain accurate procurement records within company ERP or inventory systemsWhat You'll NeedAssociate's or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferredExperience working with inventory management software, ERP systems, or purchasing platformsStrong negotiation and vendor management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially ExcelExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilitiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred 2+ years of procurement, purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain experiencePreferred, but not required: experience in pest control, environmental services, facilities management, landscaping, or related service industries; knowledge of pesticide products, application equipment, and regulatory requirements; APICS, CPSM, CPPB, or similar procurement certification; and experience managing chemical inventory and safety compliance documentation.What We OfferHealth insurance with a $0 deductible, plus dental and vision coverage401(k) with company-sponsored retirement programPaid time off and paid holidaysCareer growth and continuous professional developmentA stable, family-owned company with over 100 years of serviceOur Core FourWe live by these values, and you will too:Leave No Doubt You Care – Put people first and solve problems with empathy.Own It – Be accountable, follow through, and take pride in your work.Grow to Control Our Destiny – Seek opportunities to grow and improve every day.Shape Our Legacy – Improve what you touch and help carry forward our 100+ years of service excellence.Note: As a Procurement Specialist with Plunkett's, you will undergo a pre-employment background check upon receiving an employment offer.Plunkett's is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
