Head of Business Risk

OCR Alpha is partnered with a leading global hedge fund that is expanding its risk team following an exceptional year. The firm is seeking a talented Risk professional to join its growing business in New York, offering exposure to a diverse range of strategies and the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of the firm’s risk framework.
This is a hands‑on role, working closely with the investment desk, with a strong focus on real‑time risk understanding, monitoring, and communication across portfolios. The successful candidate will take ownership of portfolio risk coverage, ensuring effective oversight of exposures, limits, and risk utilisation, while maintaining an active dialogue with Portfolio Managers to understand positioning, market views, and trade rationale.
in risk management, trading, or a related analytical role at an Investment Bank, Hedge Fund or Asset Manager.
Strong exposure to Macro/Rates products, as well as Equities, Commodities or FX.
Solid understanding of portfolio risk concepts (exposures, limits, gross/net risk, curve and spread risk)
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Portfolio Managers and stakeholders
Proficient in Python
Experience with risk systems, analytics platforms, or internally developed tools is a plus
