Head of Risk & Compliance

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Risk Manager to join a well-established organization. This role reports to the Director of Administration and is responsible for identifying, analyzing, evaluating, and mitigating risks that could impact financial performance, operations, compliance, and overall business objectives. The position plays a key role in protecting assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and advising leadership on risk-related decisions.

Duties
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments by analyzing data, documentation, reports, and internal processes
Identify and evaluate financial, operational, compliance, and reputational risks across the organization
Develop, implement, and maintain risk management policies, procedures, and mitigation strategies
Monitor risk levels, emerging threats, and effectiveness of controls; report findings to leadership
Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, finance, IT, HR, and operations teams
Maintain risk registers, perform audits, and update risk frameworks as needed
Present risk findings, recommendations, and reports to leadership to support decision-making
Stay current on industry regulations, emerging risks, and best practices
Perform additional duties as needed

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
Full-time, exempt, onsite position

Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Flexibility required to work additional hours as needed

Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Risk Management, or related field
5+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, auditing, or a related analytical role
Strong understanding of risk management principles, policies, and best practices
Experience working cross-functionally to improve processes and drive efficiency
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to explain complex risks clearly
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and analysis
Knowledge of risk frameworks such as COSO or ISO 31000
Professional certifications such as CRISC, FRM, PRM, or similar are a plus
High attention to detail, strong ethics, and ability to handle confidential information
Problem-solving mindset with ability to develop practical mitigation strategies
