PARAMEDIC - EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT- NIGHT SHIFT (FULL TIME)

Job Summary The Paramedic - Emergency Department provides high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals across the lifespan, including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations. Working under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) and physicians, the Paramedic delivers technical and clinical support in a fast-paced emergency setting. Essential Functions Performs clinical care and technical procedures within state and national scope of practice, including vital signs, IV insertion, wound care, splinting, and cardiac monitoring.

Assists physicians and nurses with emergency procedures, including resuscitation efforts and trauma care.

Documents all care and observations accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) in a timely manner.

Collaborates with the nursing team to prioritize care, support patient throughput, and promote a coordinated patient experience.

Maintains, cleans, and stocks supplies and emergency department equipment, reporting any malfunctions or shortages.

Complies with all policies and standards.

Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Services or a related field preferred

Experience working in a hospital-based emergency department, ambulance service, or critical care transport unit preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficiency in emergency medical procedures and advanced life support techniques.

Ability to assess and respond effectively to diverse medical emergencies, including trauma, respiratory distress, cardiac events, and neurological crises.

Proficiency in operating emergency medical equipment, including defibrillators, oxygen administration devices, stretchers, and patient transport tools.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Competence in operating medical equipment and using EMR systems for documentation.

Understanding of state and federal EMS regulations, including scope of practice and emergency transport procedures.
