Maron Marvel has an immediate opening for a paralegal to join our team in its Jackson office. Successful candidates will have exceptional research, writing, and litigation skills.

Responsibilities

Draft routine legal documents

Manage multiple cases from start to trial

Collect documents from various sources

Collect, organize, analyze and summarize medical records

Review and analyze documents.

Conduct various document searches and factual research

Skills

Experience in all phases of litigation from the onset of suit through trial.

Preferable experience in personal injury litigation.

Excellent communication skills: able to interact professionally with clients and attorneys.

Excellent writing skills: able to communicate clearly and draft legal documents as requested by attorneys, including but not limited to pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and discovery production documents.

Knowledge of all phases of the litigation process and ability to assist attorneys in all phases of the litigation process.

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Proficient in Adobe Professional and Adobe DC.

Self-starter: Ability to work independently and follow up on tasks.

Strong organizational skills required: Ability to adapt to existing systems to maintain and organize case files.

Experience in preparing summaries as requested of deposition transcripts, medical records, discovery pleadings.

Ability to gather relevant information from a variety of sources as applicable to each case, including but not limited to legal research.

Ability to effectively set priorities and meet deadlines.

Strong ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and create solutions.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Team player: ability to work as part of a litigation team

Requirements

Paralegal Certificate required from accredited school.

Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.

Preferable two-plus years’ minimum experience as a personal injury paralegal.
