Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of activities to maintain plant equipment and facilities in optimum operating condition. These activities include scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency/break down repairs. The Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Must follow all safety rules and procedures; watch out for self and team member’s safety at all times. Always follow lock out and tag out, MSK, and always use personal protective equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toed shoes & safety vest, others as required). Must understand and carry out housekeeping standards. Must be capable of running machine at safe speeds and top quality to meet customer needs.

Primary Maintenance Technician duties/responsibilities include:

Perform preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components; and observing operations, vibrations, and noise levels;

Perform emergency / break down maintenance as necessary to support plant operations;

Reference equipment manuals and other technical literature;

contacting and working with vendors and subcontractors to achieve desired results;

Accurately using precision measurement and test equipment;

Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system, and other repairs and installations as needed.

Pipe fitting and Plumbing

Precision Bearing installation and removal

Interpret mechanical drawings / Blueprints

Knowledge in SAP work order system or similar platform

Keep supervision informed of problems and/or unusual situations;

Performing other duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications for Maintenance Technicians are the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job with or without accommodation, the ability to read, write, and speak English; well-rounded electrical, mechanical, and machine shop skills and experience; The maintenance supervisor evaluates Maintenance Technician qualifications.

Demonstrated ability to detect, prevent, and resolve quality issues, involving the Operator or management for resolution of issues or confirming quality expectations as needed. Demonstrated ability to add and subtract all units of measure read and copy figures, and count and record figures. A comprehension level is required to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in English in written or oral form and to deal with problems. Must be willing and able to work daily and weekly overtime, including weekends, as business conditions require. Must be willing to accept direction from the Operator to insure the most efficient operation possible.
