Mechanical TechnicianThis role focuses on assembling, retrofitting, and testing robotic cells and automation systems. You will work from detailed blueprints, build and modify mechanical assemblies, integrate pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components, and support power-up, validation, and troubleshooting of robotic systems for a variety of end customers.Job ResponsibilitiesAssemble robotic cells and automation systems according to blueprints and provided instructionsPerform mechanical assembly, including cutting, painting, light fabrication, and modifications to components as neededHandle assembly and disassembly of robots and industrial machinery to support retrofit and testing activitiesComplete pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical connections and provide integration support for automation systemsSupport installation, mounting, and troubleshooting of vision equipment used in robotic cellsAssist with system power-on, validate the build against specifications, and perform troubleshooting and integration tasksPrepare systems for tear-down, including careful disassembly and packing of equipment for shipmentUse power tools and hand tools safely and effectively during assembly and retrofit work.Essential SkillsExperience with assembly and disassembly of robots or industrial machineryAbility to read and work from blueprints for robotic cells and mechanical assembliesProficiency using a full set of mechanical tools for assembly, disassembly, and retrofit workComfort working with power tools in a safe and controlled mannerBasic understanding of mechanical systems and automation equipmentAbility to follow detailed instructions and work on the same area or cell for multiple weeks to completionStrong attention to detail when building, modifying, and validating automation systemsJob Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Auburn Hills, MI.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
