Mammographer - Radiology Mammography

WakeMed is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Mammography Technologist to join our imaging team. The Mammography Technologist performs high-quality radiographic imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. This role ensures a safe, efficient, and supportive experience for every patient while maintaining strict adherence to radiation safety standards and regulatory compliance.

The Mammography Technologist reports to the Supervisor, Ultrasound.

Operate mammography and radiologic imaging equipment to produce precise, high-quality diagnostic images

Review physician orders and patient histories to prepare for imaging procedures

Position patients and equipment accurately to achieve optimal imaging results

Data Integrity & Documentation

Accurately document diagnostic data and maintain complete patient records

Enter required information into electronic health systems in a timely manner

Equipment Management

Adjust imaging equipment based on physician direction and established protocols

Perform routine equipment checks and minor maintenance to ensure operational readiness

Report equipment issues promptly for repair or replacement

Partner with physicians and clinical teams to support interpretation of imaging results

Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives

Demonstrates compassion, values diversity, and protects patient dignity

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (Required)

Clinical experience in radiology or mammography (Preferred)

Registered Technologist in Radiography (ARRT) - Required

Registered Technologist in Mammography (ARRT-M) - Required
