Our paralegals provide fractional support to multiple client firms simultaneously, spanning litigation, employment law, real estate, probate, and other civil practice areas. Rather than spending years on a single matter type at a single firm, you'll build broad, deep experience across Chicago's legal community — working directly with attorneys across four premier downtown locations and building a professional network that grows with your career.

Amata Management is an alternative legal services provider supporting solo and small practice law firms across four premier downtown Chicago locations — 77 W Wacker, 150 S Wacker, 181 W Madison, and 33 N Dearborn. We provide our client attorneys with live reception, new client intake, scalable office space, and on-demand paralegal support, allowing them to focus entirely on practicing law. Our paralegal team is the heart of our legal services offering, and the work is substantive, varied, and meaningful.

The Litigation Paralegal will play a critical role supporting client matters from intake through litigation and resolution across multiple practice areas. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing a high-volume, multi-client caseload, producing substantive legal work with minimal supervision, and proactively identifying opportunities to support the attorneys we serve. This is an active, engaged role — including court runs, direct attorney collaboration, and ongoing relationship-building across our client base.

Litigation & Drafting

Draft and prepare complaints, amended complaints, motions, responses, and supporting legal documents

Draft EEOC charges and administrative filings for employment matters

Draft demand letters, settlement communications, and mediation materials

Draft Rule 26 disclosures and related litigation documents

Organize exhibits and maintain litigation files across multiple client matters

Review and organize employment, personnel, medical, and wage records

Manage client communications and document collection with professionalism and discretion

Support attorneys with litigation strategy and case development

Maintain accurate case notes and billing entries to support monthly revenue share calculations

Field Work & Client Engagement

Conduct court runs — filing, retrieving documents, and handling time-sensitive courthouse errands across the Chicago legal district

Proactively engage with Amata's attorney clients to understand their caseloads and identify where paralegal support is needed

Minimum 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience

Demonstrated experience drafting substantive litigation documents with minimal supervision — strong drafting skill is essential

Comfortable in the field — court runs, and time-sensitive errands are a regular part of this role

Experience in employment discrimination complaints, EEOC and administrative filings, retaliation, and harassment matters

Experience with real estate transaction documents, title and survey review, closing coordination

Experience with probate and estate administration — court filings, asset inventories, trust administration

Revenue share: earn 5-10% of all billed and collected client hours — paid monthly, in addition to your base hourly rate
