General Description The Associate Sales Engineer sells products to existing accounts, increasing business by maintaining exceptional customer relationships, creating and supporting development activity within an assigned customer base, supporting contract negotiations, and communicating sales opportunities to the team. This technical sales role requires strong internal and external communication with administration, engineering, production, quality, and credit to address customer needs.
Requirements 4‑year degree, BS preferred: Material Science/Engineering/Technical
1‑year technical or inside sales experience
Strong technical comprehension of drawings, materials, and engineering terms
Ability to resolve conflicts effectively and professionally
Organized with demonstrated follow‑up practice
Ability to work well with others, both externally and internally
Effective written and verbal communication skills (phone, email, presentations, face‑to‑face)
Must possess a legal driver's license
Proficient with Outlook & MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Meet monthly booking goals (MSP) and milestones for Master Plan and 3‑year Plans within an assigned account base; report to management on opportunities and customer requirements.
Use technical skills to generate new business with established products and work with development engineers on new products.
Manage customer interaction and relationship management within own account base; articulate technical capabilities and benefits of Kyocera products.
Represent customer requests and perspectives to production, quality, and management personnel to plan and execute “customer first” support.
Communicate with counterparts in Japan and US regularly for price quotations, delivery updates, and general support via email, phone, SAP, or status reports.
Travel up to 50% of the time; escort customers to factory visits globally and visit US production operations.
Manage daily sales account activity including order tracking, scheduling, logistics planning, account collection, on‑time delivery reporting, and related analysis.
Secure new orders and verify delivery and satisfaction.
Prepare and deliver technical presentations in various formats (face‑to‑face, webinar, phone, tradeshow); strong Excel and business writing skills required.

Pay Range - $69,153.58 - $100,131.55 (actual base pay based on relevant experience, education, market, qualifications, and skills)
