Manual Machinist - Aerospace Manufacturing

Machinist

Study blueprints, drawings, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, operational sequences, and setup requirements.

Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines including mills, lathes, and grinders.

Operate manual machining equipment to produce parts to specification.

Fit and assemble machined components into complete assemblies; Install machined replacement parts in machinery and equipment; test units to ensure proper functionality and performance.

Safely measure, cut, shear, bend, form, grind, file, sand, polish, sandblast, and test parts as required.

Use manual mills for drilling and milling operations as needed.

Use manual lathes for turning operations as needed.

Technical school graduates or one to three years of related machining experience and/or training; Basic computer skills.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedure documents.

Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
