In addition to IU Health, laboratory testing services are provided to hospitals and physicians across the country./Full-Time, Days/ppHOURS: Three 12-hour shifts - Saturday, Sunday, and Monday/ppLocation: IUHMG M-Pathology Lab/ppThe Histotechnician at LAB prepares tissue specimens for routine and special procedures that aid in the confirmation of patient diagnosis. Processes, embeds, cuts and stains surgical, biopsy and anatomical tissues for light and fluorescent microscopic slide review. Performs complex histological procedures and analyzes and corrects problems using scientific principles. Analyzes and records data. Works within defined technical processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments. Works with a limited degree of supervision with oversight focused only on complex new assignments. pulliAssociates Degree in Histology is preferred./liliCertification as a Histotechnician (HT) through ASCP is required within 6 months of hire date.
