Provide nursing care in physician practices.
In alignment with the mission and vision of Eastern Maine Medical Center and the Maine Nurse Core Competencies, the office nurse at NL EMMC will strive for excellence in patient safety, clinical quality, and service. The office nurse will:
Assess a patient's physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs and design and implements plans of care to meet the identified needs
Provide safe, quality, efficient patient care across the lifespan, with particular attention to the patient's age-related cognitive, emotional, physical, and functional needs
Collaborate professionally and effectively with members of the interdisciplinary care team
Serve as an advocate for patients and families' needs, preferences, and concerns
Be open and adaptable to change, seek to understand the drivers of change from a systems perspective, and participate in process-improvement initiatives
Recognize and respect the needs, opinions, and desires of the patient and the family, facilitate shared decision-making, and engage in respectful, culturally-appropriate communication to maximize the patient and family's healthcare experience
Adhere to hospital policy and professional standards of practice
Utilize information and biomedical technology safely and accurately to enhance the quality of patient care across the continuum
Serves as a formal & informal preceptor/mentor for new hires & students
Listens, speaks and writes appropriately, using clear language. Expresses ideas and views clearly to others and has ability to adjust use of language to the audiences' level.
Fosters Accountability: Creates and participates in a work environment where people hold themselves and others accountable for processes, results and behaviors. Demonstrates understanding that we all work as a team and the quality and timeliness of work impacts everyone involved.
