Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation — for pre- and post-procedural cardiac patients, including cardiac cath lab, electrophysiology, and vascular patients
Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
Maintain professional accountability for the provision of patient care and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care delivered by the care team
Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards and regulations
Identify and respond to cardiac emergencies, demonstrating proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation
Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and established unit guidelines
Required Qualifications
Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold a Missouri RN license
BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
Minimum 2 years of stepdown or ICU cardiac nursing experience
Demonstrated proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and identification of cardiac emergencies
Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required November 1 through April 1 — declinations are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of experience in cardiac telemetry, pre/post cardiac care, or cardiac step-down settings
• Experience with TR bands and pulling sheaths
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR
• Experience caring for STEMI post-care and critically ill cardiac patients
