TEACHING INSTRUCTORS

A Medisend College Laboratory/Teaching Assistant is responsible for assisting with the delivery and assessment of assigned course material and the maintenance and support of laboratory equipment and facilities. A Laboratory/Teaching Assistant also participates in program assessment, academic support services, student project oversight and professional development.
Responsibilities Assists with provision of instruction as assigned for various elements of Biomedical Engineering Technology courses, including but not limited to medical equipment technology, medical device installation/operation/preventative maintenance, engineering principles, operational safety and performance tests, and troubleshooting and repair of biomedical equipment.
Assists with provision of instruction in soft skills expected by the industry, including research for troubleshooting, report writing, presentation and customer communication.
Maintains laboratory equipment, facilities and laboratory supply inventories.
Provides laboratory set-up support as needed by all instructors.
Provides academic assistance to students as needed.
Maintains current knowledge and expertise in the field of Biomedical Engineering and pedagogy.
Qualifications Minimum of an AAS in Biomedical Engineering Technology or related field OR a BMET II Certificate.
Strong computer operation and computer networking skills, including proficiency with common office software preferred.
