Purchasing Manager

Salary Range: $108,900 - $145,000 per year plus bonus. Responsibilities Lead the PacStar Purchasing team and partner with the Commodity Manager to ensure strategic supply‑chain support of the PacStar business plan.

Participate in the demand and forecast process to determine material requirements needed to support business and customer expectations.

Monitor industry trends, collaborate with the Commodity Manager, and maintain a consistent and reliable supply of required components.

Help manage the supply base for effectiveness and redundancy, ensuring strong partner relationships.

Develop and implement long‑term supplier relationships and contracts to benefit PacStar and suppliers.

Develop the buyer team to ensure effective supplier management performance.

Monitor and communicate supplier issues that might affect production and customer deliveries.

Develop, manage, and report objectives and metrics to improve Procurement/Supply Chain support.

Work closely with all operations and business unit departments to share information and status updates on supply‑chain plans.

Qualifications & Experience Minimum 10+ years’ experience in purchasing and scheduling for commercial off‑the‑shelf and custom fabricated parts, including sheet metal, plastics, cables, and machined parts.

Strong ability to learn the company’s purchasing and inventory processes and adhere to documentation and internal control standards.

Experience with Sage software and working with ERP or MRP systems; SAP experience is a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Demonstrated knowledge of supply‑chain activities and ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver on key deadlines.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.

Knowledge of procurement rules, regulations, and accounting procedures involving procurement and planning.
