The Ultrasound Technologist II is responsible for maintenance of registration and active CMEs in ultrasound in order to provide excellent service. Identify anatomical orientation on all required images and assures proper file identification on all imagesDemonstrate competency performing all diagnostic ultrasound procedures and the operation of all related equipment Greet patients, obtain history, and enters information in computer systemScan according to guidelinesMaintain logs; process paperwork for biopsiesUtilize sterile techniques preventing contaminationMaintain quality standards as it relates to HIPPA regulationsResponsible for all clinical aspects of ultrasonography suite; Stock necessary medical and radiologic suppliesAssists in the completing of the accreditation process for the American College of Radiology (ACR) every three yearsMaintain CPR certificationObserve patient vital signs during examinationProvide coverage as needed (i.e., ensuring they are aware of follow-up steps and requirementsMaintain communication with radiologists and other physicians, patients and their families, and other personsConsistently submit images of diagnostic quality without recommendation of additional image acquisition; performs quality assurance on images and equipment; demonstrated competency in utilizing systemsContribute to efficient out-patient operations, maximizing the productivity of assigned modalityReview each examination for technical accuracy, present completed examinations to radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to person responsible for the care of patients following the procedureDemonstrated teamwork; interacts in a positive manner with employees and contributes to a collaborative work environmentMeet or exceed deadlines, follows through, demonstrating accountability, flexibility and adaptabilityEnhance professional growth and maintain certifications, registration and active CMEs through education programs, conferences, and workshopsAcquire patients chart date/requisition and reviews both to determine correct set-up and learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications to the study and verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needsEducate patients regarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and safety Optum NY/NJ was formed in 2022 by bringing together Riverside Medical Group, CareMount Medical and ProHealth Care. Together, were making health care work better for everyone.Youll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentCompletion of an accredited course in ultrasonographyARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification or ability to obtainPreferred Qualifications:Associate degree or Baccalaureate degree in radiography or sonography5+ years of experience as an Ultrasound TechnologistDemonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructionsDemonstrated ability to communicate with patients, visitors, and employees within the organizationDemonstrated ability to adequately use, or learn to use, the departments computerized system and its associated devicesPhysical Demands:Requires standing and walking for extended periods of timeAbility to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 poundsAbility to lift patients weighing up to 300 pounds and place them in appropriate positions for operation of equipmentRequires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to operate equipment and review developed filmsPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $29.00 - $52.00 per hour based on full-time employment.
