Description:
The position requires filling in scheduling gaps without accommodating for block scheduling.
Candidates are expected to have no other jobs, as this is to be their only position.
RTO requests must be submitted prior to the start of the contract; no approvals will be given after the start date.
Patient beds are intermixed within overflow areas, resulting in fluctuating numbers.
Nurses should be prepared to cohort patients as needed.
The fast-paced environment will feature high patient turnover, requiring adaptability and quick transitions.
Census-dependent nurse-patient ratios will be maintained, typically 1:5-6 patients.
A significant volume of general medical, telemetry, psych, and trach patients will be present.
RNs will be responsible for reading and interpreting telemetry strips, with no tech support available.
Charge nurses do not take patient assignments, allowing RNs to work independently with ER staff support.
Nurse aides will assist with coverage and break needs.
RNs should be comfortable with equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and vents.
Travelers are expected to work every other weekend and may be required to participate in holiday rotations.
There is no call or standby requirement for this position.
Floating to other telemetry units is expected as necessary.
Scrub color is royal blue, although scrubs are not provided.
Candidates must be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Cancellation policy allows for a limited number of shifts to be canceled without penalty during the assignment period.
