Journeyman CarpenterLocation: Vienna, VAType: ContractWork Model: Onsite – onsiteResponsibilities:Analyze, determine, and complete building maintenance requirements including construction, alteration, installation, and repairs of buildings, equipment, and furnishingsConstruct cabinets, shelves, and other specialty itemsPerform preventive maintenance on the building and its furnishingsManage the Equipment Maintenance Program by developing and maintaining a preventative maintenance checklist, instructing staff, and monitoring complianceTrain employees on equipment operation and serve as team lead if designatedResearch, document, communicate, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building maintenance regulationsServe as project manager for building maintenance projects, coordinate and direct work of assistants and contractorsConduct job analysis to determine project scope, requirements, and resourcesSelect contractors through a competitive bidding process, analyze costs and quality, and recommend the most qualified candidatesEnsure scheduled project completion by coordinating with customers, contractors, and staffReview technical documentation and blueprints from architects, engineers, and contractorsInspect work for quality and compliance with contract specificationsProvide technical guidance to staff in trades such as electrical, maintenance, and plumbingComplete service orders and notify customers upon completionAssemble, disassemble, and repair furnishings and partitions according to manufacturer instructionsInspect building systems (roof, flooring, finishes, architectural elements), diagnose issues, and recommend solutionsMake safety and code compliance recommendations to the Service SupervisorPerform additional duties as assignedRequirements:5-10 years of experience in building maintenance or relevant fieldMust possess a valid driver's licenseThorough knowledge of local, state, and national building codesKnowledge of tools, mathematics, safety regulations, materials, and standards related to carpentryAbility to work independently and collaboratively to gain cooperation from othersAbility to lift, move, and set up tools, equipment, and furniture weighing over 50 lbsDesired: Extensive commercial electrical maintenance experienceSuccessful completion of the Apprenticeship Program for carpenters or equivalent formal trainingProven experience demonstrating thorough knowledge and performance at the journeyman levelEffective interpersonal and verbal communication skillsDesired: High school diploma or equivalentSystem One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
