Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgery - Day Shift

The Level II Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg Float provides competent nursing care on medical-surgical units with a focus on telemetry patients. This role includes responsibilities such as patient assessments, medication administration, and collaboration with the healthcare team. The nurse may also serve in expanded roles including charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member. The position requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights.
Provide skilled nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients in accordance with established standards.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
Assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned, including oversight of unit operations and staffing.
Serve as a preceptor to new staff and participate in professional development activities.
Engage in committee work and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Respond to on-call and callback requests to support unit needs.
Active Registered Nurse license in New York State.
Minimum of two years nursing experience, including telemetry experience.
Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills in a medical-surgical setting.
Ability to work rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights.
Experience in charge nurse and preceptor roles.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems, preferably EPIC within the last year.
Experience participating in nursing committees and quality improvement projects.
Rotating shift schedules including day, evening, and night shifts.
Holidays, on-call, and callback duties as needed by the unit.
No straight shift schedules available.
Must be able to comply with hospital policies including obtaining TB skin test.
Rotating shifts covering days, evenings, and nights.
Work schedule includes every other weekend and holiday shifts.
Shift assignments are based on unit needs and may include on-call and callback responsibilities.
