Merrill Gardens at Sherwood is currently accepting applications for Bartenders to help support residents within our beautiful community residents call home.

Our Bartenders:

Monitors and maintains cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.

Maintains knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available.

Maintains knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of our wine/ champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.

Maintains knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of our beers and spirits/liquors.

Follows the daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance program and cleaning schedule and properly documents maintenance needs on work orders.

Maintains knowledge of service standards as they relate to table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, menus, price range and company dress code.

Risk Management:

Understands and abides by all company policies and procedures

Adheres to all health department, sanitation, and safety practices.

Use all chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and company standards.

Understands proper storage of all food, supplies, and chemical safety.

Reports all concerns for equipment repairs or hazardous issues immediately to supervisor.

Customer Service:

Is familiar with our community’s services and features and responds to guest inquiries accurately.

Participates in resolving guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.

High school graduate or equivalent.

Must have two (2) years experience as a Bartender.

Must have the proper state-required food handling certificate.

Must have an excellent knowledge of various drink recipes and beverage service standards.

A certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service, is preferred.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Communicates with 1) persons who are aging or who might have dementia, 2) resident’s family members, 3) co-workers, and 4) supervisors in a courteous and professional manner.
