Yardman Position at Tague Lumber

Tague Lumber is seeking a dependable, hands-on Yardman to join our Phoenixville team. What You'll Do

As a Yardman, you will play a key role in ensuring customers receive the materials they need safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

Greeting customers and assisting with loading and unloading materials

Operating equipment such as forklifts safely and effectively

Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe yard environment

Order picking, wrapping products, packing, labeling shipping and receiving

Packaging finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)

Following all company policies and safety procedures

Supporting general yard and warehouse operations as needed

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a reliable team player with a strong work ethic and a customer-first mindset.

Required qualifications:

Previous experience in a customer service or team-based environment

Forklift experience preferred

Familiarity with building materials preferred

Ability to safely lift heavy objects 60-100 lbs on a regular basis and climbing ladders or stairs to perform duties of the position

Basic reading, writing, and math skills

Strong attention to safety and detail

Valid driver's license required

Ability to pass a background check, physical, and drug screening

Work Environment

This position is based in an active warehouse and outdoor yard setting. The role involves frequent physical activity including lifting (including overhead), walking, bending, standing, and carrying materials. Employees should be comfortable working in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.

Machines/Tools/Equipment

Forklifts, hand trucks, small power saws, banding equipment (used to wrap banding around building materials, wrap, tighten and then push down to secure banding).
