RN, OB/L&D - Nights

Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery / Postpartum Job Description The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and various medical care treatments. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care with a focus on monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions appropriately to the care team, physicians, patients, and their families.

Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and addressing spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

Evaluate learning needs of patients and/or families and provide appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

Circulate during Cesarean sections and assist physicians during deliveries as needed.

Follow appropriate policies during the recovery and care of surgical patients.

Attend the neonatal station in the C/Section suite and assess neonates post-delivery.

Maintain certifications, including fetal monitoring and S.T.A.B.L.E. if offered, and ensure NRP certification is current.

Identify necessary information to be communicated to physicians and patients regarding care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Must possess ACLS, BLS, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., and AWHONN certifications, with proof required.

Must hold a valid Alabama RN license or multi-state RN license.

Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience in Level 1 Nursery, Postpartum, OB/GYN, and Labor & Delivery/LDRP.

Schedule This is a night shift position from 19:00 to 07:00.
