Faculty Professor - Full-Time, Medicine

College of Medicine, Geriatrics

The Department of Geriatrics is seeking an academic geriatric physician to fill full-time 12-month open-rank faculty position at a minimum rank of either Assistant or Associate Professor, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
The position will involve substantial teaching and supervision of health professional students as well as assisting in the delivery of an innovative, integrated curriculum and practice in a clinical facility.
The positions will include around 50% direct patient care at an affiliated primary care practice (credentialing required).
The Department has research interests in the areas of geriatrics workforce enhancement and geriatric syndromes.
Applicants must have a doctoral degree (MD or DO) in an appropriate field from an accredited institution; a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service; and personal and professional goals that are consistent with the mission of the FSU College of Medicine.
Applicants must have Board Certification in Geriatric Medicine, or the ability to obtain within one year of hire and participate in maintenance of certification.
Must possess or obtain a valid Florida license to practice medicine in accordance with Chapter 458, Florida Statutes.
Ability to foster an educational environment conducive to patient-centered medical students, physician assistants and other healthcare students' education.
Experience in teaching healthcare students is highly desired.
Relevant academic, clinical, and professional experience; and be passionate about the field of geriatric medicine.
