Who We Are: CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City, where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports, they need to thrive. Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We reach almost 80,000 individuals and families, including almost 13,000 youth.The Scattered Site Housing Program (SSHP) – provides 270 scattered site-housing units to HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA) clients. All the units are leased in the agency’s name. Sixty-seven units are dedicated for families and 203 units are for single individuals. The program has two components to assist clients succeed in housing, socials services and operations. Case management staff focusses on removing barriers to maintain medical care and achieve viral suppression by ensuring that all clients’ basic needs are met and that clients are connected to needed services, such as mental health and substance abuse. The operations component focuses on the housing units meeting habitability standards by working with landlords and management companies to address major repair issues and complete minor repairs, as well as identifying new units, negotiating leases and making units ready when there is a vacancy.

What The Assistant Program Manager Does

Understand all aspects of contract requirements and communicate this understanding to staff.

Train staff in program responsibilities, processes, and procedures, and ensure that all staff meets contract requirements in their daily work.

Work with staff to set realistic weekly and monthly performance targets in accordance with contract requirements.

Conduct periodic internal file review and implement Quality Assurance measures as needed to ensure quality service delivery to clients.

Conduct weekly supervision for direct reporting staff.

Document all interactions with clients in the case records

Assist in the analysis of program and demographic data to make programmatic improvements.

Organize onsite and offsite training opportunities for professional development of staff.

Confer with the Program Manager on programmatic and operational matters.

Prepare performance appraisals for direct reporting staff.

Prescreen clients over the telephone for eligibility and schedule intake appointments as needed.

Respond immediately to emergencies and inform supervisor

While not on call, may need to be reachable afterhours and on weekends in case of client emergency

If in the event the program is understaffed, supervisors will take on the responsibilities and duties of the supervisees.

Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite.

Bilingual in Spanish or Haitian Creole.

Experience working with people living with HIV/AIDS and related issues.

General pre-employment background checks, including SCR and criminal background checks, medical clearance such as a TB test, and other clearances as required by the funder.
