Counselor - Hourly

Location: Soda Springs, California. Woodward Tahoe is a year‑round world‑class action sports facility located in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain range.
The BMX Counselor will create a positive and nurturing environment for campers aged 5‑17, teaching skateboard skills based on individual abilities. Counselors manage up to 10 campers, ensuring their needs are met outside instructional time—including meals, activities, and calls home. They also assist with camp check‑ins, enforce rules, and model a neat appearance.
Responsibilities Develop caring relationships with campers and help provide the best camp experience.
Ensure the basic needs of campers are met.
Provide high‑quality instruction for safe skill progression and a fun learning environment.
Care for homesick campers and inform appropriate staff.
Communicate with medical staff regarding injuries and special needs.
Facilitate disbursement of medication through the Camp Nurse.
Understand and be aware of allergies and other special needs of campers.
Participate in recreation activities with enthusiasm and encourage campers to do the same.
Maintain a positive attitude and arrive to shifts on time.
Uphold the highest standard of professionalism in appearance and behavior at all times.
Qualifications Strong BMX skills and excellent communication abilities.
Ability to manage up to 10 campers and enforce rules.
Adaptable, punctual, and maintain professionalism at all times.
Ability to coordinate with medical staff and manage special needs or allergies.
Compensation and Benefits Proposed hourly rate of $19.25, with actual pay adjusted based on experience. On‑site employee housing and meals are available.
