Current RN license required

Certifications: BLS required, ACLS required, Crisis Prevention Institute training preferred

Renders professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital, in support of medical care as directed by medical staff and pursuant to objectives and policies of the hospital.
Completes all unit-specific competencies and requirements to care for critically ill patients.
Participates in quality improvement planning and processes for the area of practice.
Completes clinical documentation and care plans comprehensively and in a timely manner for assigned patients.
Demonstrates knowledge of current practice standards and applicable nurse practice acts.
Communicates patient information effectively for continuity and safe care through handoffs and collaboration with the medical team.
Conducts hourly rounding in collaboration with nursing assistants for all assigned patients.
Identifies and assists in correcting patient care safety issues.
Recognizes and praises excellent performance in colleagues.
Collaborates across units and shifts to resolve conflicts and issues promptly.
Consults with nurses in other departments to leverage expertise across specialties.
Demonstrates flexibility in resolving tension within the unit.
Effectively delegates aspects of care and unit activities to other nursing personnel.
Collaborates in planning, supervising, and instructing other nurses and assistants.
Works cohesively with nursing students and instructors.
Engages in survey readiness activities.
Manages time off in accordance with policy.
