Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

This position requires a registered nurse specialized in labor and delivery. The nurse will be responsible for caring for adult women of childbearing age. The unit includes 7 labor beds, 3 triage rooms, 2 PACU, and 16 mother-baby beds. The nurse will assist with high-risk deliveries and provide lactation support. Responsibilities include monitoring fetal heart rates and performing sterile vaginal exams. The nurse will administer medications, including magnesium sulfate and pitocin. The nurse will participate in discharge teaching for parents. Floating within the hospital may be necessary, but not to sister facilities. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory services and social services. Experience with electronic health record systems, particularly Epic, is essential.
