Head of Project Management

Project ManagerWe are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead and oversee heavy civil construction and excavation projects from pre-construction through completion. This role is responsible for managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within scope.The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong field and technical knowledge, and is comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.Key ResponsibilitiesManage all phases of heavy civil and excavation projects including site development, grading, utilities, and earthworkDevelop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecastsCoordinate with superintendents, field crews, subcontractors, and suppliersEnsure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality requirementsReview plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure accurate project executionTrack project progress and proactively resolve issues impacting cost or scheduleLead project meetings with internal teams, clients, and stakeholdersManage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentationOversee procurement of materials and subcontractor agreementsMonitor project financials including cost tracking, billing, and profitabilityBuild and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat businessQualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)5–10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, excavation, or site developmentProven experience managing projects involving earthwork, utilities, grading, or roadway constructionStrong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contractsProficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, HCSS, Bluebeam, MS Project)Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneouslyPreferred ExperienceExperience with DOT, municipal, or large-scale infrastructure projectsKnowledge of estimating and bidding processesFamiliarity with GPS machine control and modern construction technologyOSHA certification or strong safety backgroundCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary (commensurate with experience)Performance-based bonusesCompany vehicle or vehicle allowanceHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysWork EnvironmentCombination of office and field-based workRegular travel to job sites requiredExposure to outdoor conditions and active construction environments
